jagged crater
✦ RESILIENT PACKET / JAGGED CRATER ✦
Our blossoms are gone, blasted by heat and wind—
deployments, still doing their work in another form:
a resilient packet, dense distro, you can see it in the air—
just the other side of the Japanese maple,
leaf-shadowed, watching the field continue—
but here—
a clamp on my jaw again, a tooth still asking for treatment,
what’s left of it now: a jagged crater, an open insistence, a signal that won’t distribute.
The blossoms scatter, become everything—
this stays, localized, unresolved,
a hard edge in the system.
Still live. Still transmitting. Still mine.
No marks yet.
Wrote this while sitting in the jeep today. Ha. Watching the pollen in the air, and the last of the blossoms falling.
the ground didn’t accept it cleanly it tore edges refusing the idea of a circle whatever landed here was too much or too fast or too late now the earth holds it in a shape that won’t smooth out a memory with teeth
